Yesterday I took an evening walk along the river locally to me. The beauty of the trees and the diversity of species filled me with happiness; the shapes of the leaves, the summer evening smells, the mature ancient oaks. I’ve always loved trees, having spent many walks in woods and forests as a child. As I looked across the river, the bank-side full of fir trees, a wolf’s face came into my imagination.

Over the last couple of decades, I've experienced wolves appearing in imagination, one being in Snowdonia National Park, deep in the woods, and another in Devon, Dartmoor, in the snow. The Snowdonia experience occurred whilst I was on retreat in a cottage and a husky came into the cottage in the middle of the night. An hour before this, I was asleep, dreaming of a wolf coming into the bedroom waiting at the foot of my bed for me to wake up. What happened next was beautiful, a one off experience I will never forget. I will save sharing what happened with the huski-wolf for another time, as in February this year the memory of this experience returned vividly, it’s both a magical and true story, and I hope one day it will make the bookshop shelf.
